Fox News CEO Lachlan Murdoch Backs Tucker Carlson After ADL Calls For His Firing

Lachlan Murdoch, executive chairman and CEO of Fox Corporation, confirmed that the company would not fire host Tucker Carlson after the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called for him to be removed. Murdoch wrote a letter saying, “A full review of the guest interview indicates that Mr. Carlson decried and rejected replacement theory.”

Murdoch went on to thank the ADL. “Throughout our news and opinion programming, our management and Board are focused on fair, accurate and informed reporting and commentary on matters of public interest. We thank you for participating in this important national conversation,” Murdoch wrote.

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt quickly responded to Murdoch in a statement. “I thank you for your words of respect for ADL,” Greenblatt said. “Although I appreciate the sentiment that you and your father continue to support ADL’s mission, supporting Mr. Carlson’s embrace of the ‘great replacement theory’ stands in direct contrast to that mission … let me be clear that we would not do so today, and it does not absolve you, him, the network, or its board from the moral failure of not taking action against Mr. Carlson.”

The ADL called on Fox News to fire their network’s host Carlson following a segment where the host made allusions to a white supremacist theory of whites being at risk of “replaced” by non-whites, known as the “Great Replacement Theory.”
