Former President Jimmy Carter Turns 97

Former President Jimmy Carter turned 97 on Friday. Carter is the oldest former president ever.

Despite this big milestone event, Carter did not make any public appearances, preferring to keep a low profile, according to his spokesperson.

Carter, instead, spent his birthday at home in Plains, Georgia.

Carter has been praised for spending his post-presidency working on projects to further global peace and housing development.
