A fight broke out at Rep. Katie Porter‘s town hall this Sunday. Porter claims the fight was organized by her opponents who sent their supporters.
“At our town halls, we take steps, such as putting all questions into a bingo ball spinner, so that we hear all voices, not just the loudest ones. It is disappointing that a small but vocal group of attendees, who advertised a ‘confrontation rally,’ created unsafe conditions at a planned family-friendly event.”
Porter noted that once the fight broke out, she went over and put her arms around an older lady to protect her from the fight.
Republican Nick Taurus, who is running against Porter, posted on Instagram before the event. He encouraged his followers to go to the event to confront Porter supporters. He also posted afterward thanking publications, such as The Independent, that reported the news.
