FBI Found Classified Documents Holding Secrets About Iran & China During Mar-a-Lago Search

Documents obtained by the FBI from their search of former President Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago residence held government secrets about Iran and China, according to a Washington Post report.

If leaked, the information could be detrimental to the U.S. as it would allegedly expose “intelligence gathering methods,” including giving insight on who they gather information from.

One of the documents details Iran’s missile program.

In August, the FBI executed a search warrant at Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida, residence as part of the Justice Department probe into Trump’s possible mishandling of classified documents. They collected 13,000 documents, with nearly 200 of them being labeled as classified or top secret. Trump has since claimed that he declassified the White House documents before taking them to Florida.

The former President responded to the Post’s report on his social media app, Truth Social, saying that “The FBI and the Department of ‘Justice’ … are now leaking nonstop on the Document Hoax to the Fake News.”

He went on to reiterate his claim that the FBI planted documents.

Trump is also under investigation for possible election interference in Georgia and his company is being probed in New York for mishandling finances. The House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack is also looking into Trump’s actions prior, during and after to determine if he played a role in inciting the violence of that day as protestors stormed the Capitol while the joint session of Congress was certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 win.

Though he has not yet announced a formal bid, Trump is expected to run for the White House again in 2024.
