Eric Trump Vows Revenge Against GOP Senators Who Certified Election Results, Then Deletes Tweet

In a Twitter statement Tuesday night, son of the president, Eric Trump vowed to “personally work to defeat” any Republican Senators or members of the House who do not object to the Electoral College certification in congress today.

Eric Trump’s threat came directly after another from Donald Trump Jr. who similarly said to Republicans at a Trump rally on Wednesday, “You can be a hero, or you can be a zero. We are all watching.”

The two sons have not cited credible reasons to object to the Electoral College results’ certification.

Despite Eric and Don Jr. threats, Congress confirmed Biden’s win on Wednesday night after a mob of Trump supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol. Eric later deleted his threatening tweet,

The last time an objection was made in this session of Congress, only one of two ever, was in 2004. The objection was made by House and Senate Democrats who did not plan on overturning the election, but instead used the platform to highlight supposed “irregularities” in Ohio’s election. Republicans at the time sustained the certification explaining that governmental and independent review of Ohio’s election showed no evidence of fraud.

The Trump sons have staunchly argued that voter fraud turned the presidential election in favor of Biden. But there is no evidence of fraud in the 2020 presidential election and over 60 court cases brought by the Trump campaign have all been dismissed for lack of evidence.
