Eric Trump Says Democrats ‘Milk’ Coronavirus To Stop Father’s Campaign Rallies
President Donald Trump‘s son, Eric Trump, theorized that the reason Democratic states are not reopening is because they want to prevent the president from holding campaign rallies.
“And they think they’re taking away Donald Trump’s greatest tool, which is being able to go into an arena and fill it with 50,000 people every single time, right?” the younger Trump told Fox News over the weekend. “So they will and you watch. They’ll milk it every single day between now and November 3, and guess what? After November 3, coronavirus, will magically all of a sudden go away and disappear and everybody will be able to reopen.”
States that have chosen not to reopen are avoiding a resurgence in COIVD-19 cases, such as what happened when Georgia reopened prematurely and saw coronavirus deaths reach 1,000.
Trump said in mid-April that he hopes he will be able to hold his campaign rallies.

“It’s great for the country. It’s great spirit,” Trump said. He added later “I hope we’re going to have rallies. I think they’re going to be bigger than ever.”
Even in states beginning the first phases of reopening, large venue events including campaign rallies would be the last to resume.
