An online feud between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk on their digital platforms on Thursday sparked a loaded accusation of Trump’s connection to the Epstein files.
In a short post on X, Elon called out the president.
“Time to drop the really big bomb,” he said, “[Trump] is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.”
He went on to later post, “The truth will come out.”

Elon’s statement comes as the unreleased contents of the Epstein files have sparked a wave of conspiracy theories from right-wing influencers.
Attorney General Pam Bondi‘s release of “Phase 1” of the Epstein files led to public scrutiny and an increased social media following of the topic, as many argued the contents of the files were largely outdated and already public.
One of the most publicized conspiracy theories speculates about Trump’s involvement with Epstein.
Musk’s conspiracy theory post resulted in a continued fiery wave of tit-for-tat replies between him and Trump.
“The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Government Subsidies and Contracts,” Trump later replied on Truth Social, “I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”
Trump’s “government contracts” claim refers to Musk’s ownership of SpaceX, as well as other companies, which have government contracts.
