Elon Musk Calls GOP Budget Bill ‘Utterly Insane,’ ‘Will Destroy Millions Of Jobs In America’

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, a former top deputy for President Donald Trump, called the Republican budget nearing passage in the Senate utterly insane.”

“The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country!” Musk wrote on his platform X.

“Utterly insane and destructive. It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future.”

Musk’s companies have benefited from the green subsidies brought in by the Biden administration.

At the start of Trump’s second term in office, Musk established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk made himself an integral part of Trump’s campaign when he initially supported the president with a $250 million donation during the election cycle. Following Trump’s return to the White House, Musk was frequently seen accompanying the president, including to important meetings in the Oval Office.

Musk has repeatedly attacked the bill and Trump personally since leaving the administration.

Musk’s businesses have suffered as a result of protests across the country in response to his work with DOGE.

DOGE has shut down 11 federal organizations, saving around $160 billion and leaving 250,000 employees jobless. When DOGE was created, Musk promised to save the government $2 trillion in spending.
