E. Jean Carroll Asks For $10 Million In Damages For Trump’s CNN Town Hall Comments

E. Jean Carroll is seeking damages for “vile” comments made by former President Donald Trump in a CNN Town Hall. Carroll, an author and advice columnist, recently won $5 million in damages from a civil sexual assault and defamation case against Donald Trump.

Trump was asked about the Manhattan jury’s verdict during the Town Hall on May 10. He described Carroll, who sued the former president for sexually assaulting her in the 1990s, as a “wack job” and said the trial was a “rigged deal.” The comments came a day after the Manhattan jury ruled against Trump.

Carroll expressed disgust over the comments. “It’s just stupid, it’s just disgusting, vile, foul, it wounds people,” Carroll said in an interview with The New York Times. She mulled over suing Trump again and ultimately filed the amended complaint this week. She seeks $10 million for Trump’s comments at the Town Hall.

The day before the Town Hall, Trump fled to Truth Social to rant about the “political witch hunt” of the jury’s verdict.

“I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHO THIS WOMAN IS,” Trump wrote on the social media site. “THIS VERDICT IS A DISGRACE – A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!”

This is the third time Carroll is suing the former president.
