Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country’s top disease adviser, revealed that following his work on COVID-19, he began to receive hostile threats from the public that affect not only him but his family also.
In an interview with CNN’s host David Axelrod, Fauci said that he and his family are constantly threatened.
“There are people who get really angry at thinking that I’m interfering with their life because I’m pushing a public health agenda,” Fauci said. “The kind of, not only hate mail, but actual serious threats against me are not good. I don’t really see how society does that.”
However, despite the threats Fauci has received, he nonetheless emphasized the pandemic issues even harder.

“This is a public health issue. What we’re talking about are fundamental principles of public health. And I don’t see how people can have animosity to that,” Fauci said. “You have to be careful, because of the negative consequences of things like shutting down, that’s understandable, which is the reason why we are all trying to open up America again in a way that is safe that we can do in a measured fashion. But the hostility against public health issues is difficult to not only understand, but difficult to even process.”
Throughout the pandemic, Fauci has contradicted President Donald Trump over the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.
