Amid coronavirus cases, public health experts, including the country’s top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci are voicing concerns regarding a lack of safety precautions at President Donald Trump’s rally scheduled in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
More than 19,000 people are expected to be crammed in the arena on June 20, mostly Trump supporters who are less inclined to wear masks.
Health experts warn that this mega-size campaign rally could put people’s health at risk, causing another big wave of the virus across the state if not following adequate safety protocols.
“Let me be clear: Anyone trying to attend a large-scale gathering will face an increased risk of becoming infected with COVID-19,” Bruce Dart, executive director at Tulsa Health Department, said Wednesday. “I know so many people are over COVID, but COVID is not over. It’s transmitting very efficiently in our community.”

Fauci also showed his concern regarding the scheduled rally. When asked if he will attend Tulsa rally, his answer was a simple “no.”
“I’m in a high-risk category. Personally, I would not. Of course not,” he told Daily Beast.
In regards to Trump’s rallies, Fauci said that the “outside is better than inside; no crowd is better than crowd; crowd is better than big crowd.”
