Donald Trump Sits For 8-Hour Deposition In Manhattan For Fraud Investigation

Former President Donald Trump arrived in Manhattan on Thursday for a New York state civil suit deposition. Trump posted his travel update on Truth Social.

“Just arrived in Manhattan for a deposition,” Trump posted on the platform before launching into a tirade about the lawsuit.

Trump and his adult children face charges in New York state of business fraud. State Attorney General Letitia James alleges that the Trumps falsely reported real estate income to get tax benefits.

Trump counter-sued James in 2021 in an attempt to stop her investigation.

The ex-president sat for eight hours of grilling by the New York AG.

In a later post, Trump claimed that in the pending lawsuit, he would “finally be able to show what a great, profitable, and valuable company I built, actually, some of the greatest real estate assets anywhere in the world.

In March, Trump’s lawyers asked to move the trial back six months so they could look over a “staggering” amount of materials presented by New York’s AG.

The New York civil suit is one of many legal challenges for the former president seeking reelection. Trump was arraigned earlier this month in a Manhattan district court for falsifying business records in 2016 to allegedly cover up hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Trump faces future legal hurdles, including federal investigations into his role on January 6th, election interference in the 2020 Presidential election and classified documents found stashed at his private residence in Mar-A-Lago.

Georgia officials are also investigating the former president for election interference in the state.
