Donald Trump Refuses To Concede: ‘I Won This Election By A Lot!’

After roughly 160 million Americans cast ballots for the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden has been elected the 46th president of the United States.

However, President Donald Trump has not yet conceded – and may never. Only a few minutes after multiple news networks officially called the race at 11:25 a.m. on Saturday morning did his campaign issue a prepared statement refusing to acknowledge Biden as the winner. Trump continues to make a series of false claims that tens of thousands of main-in ballots had been illegally cast because they arrived after 8 p.m. on Election Day. His campaign has also filed at least ten lawsuits in Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania alleging various acts of wrongdoing committed in these key swing states, namely the fact that observers were not allowed to watch ballot counting in Philadelphia, although his lawyers admitted that observers had, in fact, been admitted to spectate.

“THE OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTING ROOMS. I WON THE ELECTION, GOT 71,000,000 LEGAL VOTES. BAD THINGS HAPPENED WHICH OUR OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. MILLIONS OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS WERE SENT TO PEOPLE WHO NEVER ASKED FOR THEM!” Trump tweeted out Saturday evening.

This tweet follows Trump’s first remarks after learning that Biden won the election. Trump immediately disputed the results, taking to Twitter to declare: “I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!”

Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani supported the president in his dismissal of the election results. “President Trump’s campaign was denied its right to a fair count,” he said. “Networks don’t get to decide the election. Courts do.”

But as Harvard Law School Professor Michael Klarman stated on Friday, “The Court isn’t going to overturn the election result. The election isn’t close enough for any of Trump’s litigation to affect the result.”
