President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, a spokesperson confirmed Friday. Since the positive diagnosis, Trump Jr. has been quarantining in his cabin and remains asymptomatic.
“My son Donald is doing very well. Thank you!” Trump tweeted Saturday morning.
Although he is “doing very well” and “is following all medically recommended COVID-19 guidelines,” according to his spokesperson, Trump Jr. had not been adhering to social distancing guidelines prior to his positive test result. The White House has hosted multiple events with no regard for the guidelines, the most recent event being an indoor election night maskless party with 250 attendees, including Trump Jr. Other party attendees have since tested positive since the event, including Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson and White House political affairs director Brian Jack.
Trump Jr. is the latest member of the Trump family to be infected. Back in October, President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and their son Barron Trump all tested positive. Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, tested positive over the Fourth of July weekend.
