On Tuesday night, former President Donald Trump celebrated his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election.
“We overcame obstacles nobody ever thought we could,” Trump stated on election night.
He promised to fight for every family and their futures. “This will truly be the golden age of America,” he declared.
The newly elected president won battleground battles in North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin by narrow margins.

He exceeded the electoral vote threshold of 270, which was needed to win, and now has a total of 277.
When Trump won the presidency, votes were still being counted in the other battleground states of Michigan, Nevada and Arizona.
Exit polling shows he won white voters without a college education, 65% to 34%, and growing margins with black men, 20% to 79%, and Latino men, 54% to 44%.
In Georgia, independent voters broke for Trump, 54% to 43%, according to exit polls.
Harris and Trump won equal support from independents, which suggested that the vice president had a smaller share than Joe Biden did in 2020.
North Carolina was the lone battleground state Trump won in 2020.
The newly elected president promised at nearly every campaign event that he would carry out mass deportations if he were to be reelected.
Exit polling showed that voters also believed Trump would do a superior job of confronting illegal immigration at the southern border.
Trump had a steadfast base of voters, and in this election, he managed to attract new and undecided voters—low-propensity, young male voters—who turned out for him.
As a result of his victory, he is the oldest person ever to win a U.S. presidential election.
He will also become the first president in 132 years since Grover Cleveland to serve two non-consecutive terms in office.
The election was the most expensive presidential race in history.
He is also the first president, current or former, ever to be convicted of crimes, including falsifying business records to cover up an affair with porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump is the first twice-impeached president ever to gain a second term.
He is the first president to take office while fighting against criminal charges in many active federal and state cases, including his hush money trial in New York.
If Trump follows through on his campaign promises, his second administration will soon appoint an ambitious and contentious agenda focused on deep tax cuts, reshaping relationships with foreign leaders and mass deportations.
The campaign included two assassination attempts on Trump. On July 13, Trump was shot in the ear during a rally in western Pennsylvania. A second attempt happened at a Florida golf course.
