Donald Trump Continues to Attack Rep. Ilhan Omar, Calling Her “Ungrateful”

President Donald Trump continued his attacks on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), with new accusations of “U.S. HATE” and having control over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

On Monday, Trump tweeted about Omar:

This tweet followed another one on Friday, when Trump tweeted a misleading video that took Omar’s comment on the 9/11 attacks out of context and merged it with footage from the attacks.

Omar, one of the first Muslim women in Congress, was invited to speak at a Council on American-Islamic Relations event in Los Angeles last month.

“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,” Omar said in the short clip.

Her whole speech condemned the increase in hate and threats that the Muslim population have endured since the Sept. 11 attacks. Many Republicans, including Trump, are isolating the one line to accuse Omar of minimizing the 9/11 attacks.

On Sunday, Pelosi condemned the President’s video and demanded he take action.

“The President’s word weigh a ton, and his hateful and inflammatory rhetoric creates a real danger,” she said, “President Trump must take down his disrespectful and dangerous video.”

Omar has come under multiple attacks from Republican media and lawmakers after she made a statement questioning the relationship between the U.S. and Israel, which created speculation that she was anti-semitic. Earlier this month, a New York man was arrested and charged with threatening to kill Omar.
