President Donald Trump lashed out on Twitter at a Virginia Red Hen restaurant for refusing to serve his press secretary. Trump advised the restaurant to clean its exterior and implied it was dirty inside.
Trump’s outburst came after White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted that she was asked to leave the restaurant “because I work for @POTUS.” She wrote that the owner’s request for her departure said “far more about her than about me.”

The restaurant’s co-owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, told the Washington Post that asking Sanders to leave was a result of conversations with the restaurant staff – some of the staff members are gay and oppose the Trump administration’s decision to ban transgender individuals from serving in the military. Wilkinson said Sanders works in an “inhumane and unethical” administration.
The restaurant is closed on Mondays and has not provided a comment.
