Donald & Ivanka Trump Donated To Kamala Harris’ Campaign In 2014

President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump both contributed $8000 in total to Kamala Harris‘ reelection campaign when she was running for Attorney General in California back in 2014, before she became a Democratic vice-presidential candidate earlier this week.

Following the news, Katrina Pierson, a spokeswoman for Trump’s 2020 campaign, argued in an interview with PBS that the donation to Harris shows that Trump is not racist. Harris parents came from India and Jamaica.

“I will note that Kamala Harris is a black woman and he donated to her campaign, so I hope we can squash this racism argument now,” Pierson told PBS.

Trump had donated mostly to Democrats until 2011. Some of the prominent Democrats who received his contributions include Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid and Hillary Clinton.

After the announcement that presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden chose Harris as his running mate, Trump released a short ad criticizing both.

“Voters rejected Harris,” the ad intoned. “They smartly spotted a phony. But not Joe Biden. He’s not that smart. Biden calls himself a transition candidate. He is handing over the reins to Kamala while they jointly embrace the radical left. Slow Joe and Phony Kamala. Perfect together. Wrong for America.”
