Did GOP House Members Help The Capitol Rioters? Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Thinks So

A recent video from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) highlighted the growing concern that white supremacist and other sympathizers in the House of Representatives coordinated with the rioters who stormed the Capitol building on Jan. 6.

A protest organizer told CNN said they coordinated with three Republican members of the House. Since the riots there have also been a growing number of internal affairs investigations into Capitol Police officers’ actions during the riots.

Ocasio-Cortez chillingly said in her video message that “many, many members of the House were nearly assassinated.” She continued that she should not disclose the full details of her own encounters because of security concerns, but that “there were ‘QAnon’ and white supremacist sympathizers and frankly white supremacist members of Congress” who she is concerned would leak her location to the violent mob. Ocasio-Cortez said there was a moment “where I thought I was going to die.”

The organizer of the Capitol protests named three members of the House of Representatives whom he alleged helped plan the protests – Reps. Paul Gosar (R-Arizona), Andy Biggs (R-Arizona) and Mo Brooks (R-Alabama), who is facing a potential censure by the House as a result of his speech at the Trump rally which preceded the storming of the Capitol.

Legal experts warn that if House members helped coordinate Jan. 6’s riots they could face charges along side the over 60 members of the pro-Trump mob who have already been arrested.
