Democratic Fundraising Platform ActBlue Drops Cuomo Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

Embattled New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo‘s campaign is no longer eligible to collect money through the Democratic fundraising website ActBlue. The governor was cut from the platform over sexual harassment allegations.

ActBlue confirmed that Cuomo’s campaign was been removed from the website on Thursday.

State Attorney General Letitia James (D) released the findings of a sexual harassment investigation into Cuomo’s administration, which showed that the governor sexually harassed and intimidated 11 women.

Cuomo has denied these accusations, even going as far as to issue a video statement that claimed James’ investigation was “biased.”

President Joe Biden commented on the allegations, saying he believes Cuomo should step down. “I think he should resign,” Biden said. “I think he’ll probably end up being prosecuted, too.”

Seante Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) also issued a statement with fellow New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D): “No elected official is above the law. The people of New York deserve better leadership in the governor’s office. We continue to believe that the governor should resign.”

Before cutting ties with Cuomo, ActBlue was under considerable pressure – from Democrats and Republicans alike – to hold the governor accountable for his actions.
