Democrat Adam Frisch Concedes To Far-Right Rep. Lauren Boebert In Close Colorado Race

Democrat Adam Frisch conceded on Friday to far-right Rep. Lauren Boebert (R), effectively putting an end to a heavily disputed race for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional district.

The latest vote count shows Boebert leading the race by just 0.16 percentage points — or 551 votes. Under Colorado’s law, a recount is automatically triggered if the margin in a race is half of a percentage point or less.

Frisch, however, said in a video call with reporters that “the likelihood of this recount changing more than a handful of votes is very small.” He said he called Boebert to offer his concession.

He even asked that his supporters not donate to his campaign for the recount effort, urging them to save the money for groceries and rent.

“We are not asking for this recount. It is one that the citizens of Colorado mandate through our election system,” he said.

In his remarks, Frisch said he was proud of his campaign but criticized the Democratic party for eroding the “trust in rural America.”

“Democrats have abandoned rural America and working-class America for the last many years,” he said. “Republicans have had a monopoly over the backbone of this country.”

With the race coming to an end, Boebert, a Donald Trump-backed lawmaker elected in 2020 as a Second Amendment evangelist, is set for a second term.
