Trump Calls Out U.S. Women’s Soccer Team’s ‘Wokeness’ Again

Former President Donald Trump has criticized, yet again, the U.S. women’s national soccer team. He said that the players would have won the gold medal, instead of the bronze, if they had been preoccupied with “wokeness.”

Last week, the women’s soccer team won third place in Tokyo and took home a bronze medal after defeating Australia 4-3 on Thursday. They were unable to secure a gold medal after losing to Canada 1-0 earlier.

In a statement issued by Trump’s Save America PAC, he wrote: “Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad, and our soccer team certainly has. If our soccer team, headed by a radical group of Leftists Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold medal, instead of the Bronze.”

This is not the first time Trump has attacked leading America’s athletes for their political views.

He had picked fights before with politically-minded activists, like Colin Kaepernick, the then San Francisco 49ers star player, who refused to stand up for the national anthem.
