House Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (D-California) accused Maxine Waters (D-California) of inciting violence after she spoke about her support of the Minneapolis protests.
On Saturday, Waters spoke in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, where Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old black man, was accidentally shot and killed by a police officer last week.
“I’m going to fight with all of the people who stand for justice,” said Waters. “We’ve got to get justice in this country, and we cannot allow these killings to continue.”
After Waters stood with protesters in Brooklyn Center on Sunday night, she said activists had to let law enforcement know “we mean business.”

“We’ve got to stay on the street, and we’ve got to get more active. We’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business,” Waters said on camera.
McCarthy warned Speaker Nancy Pelosi that he would “bring action” against Waters.
“Maxine Waters is inciting violence in Minneapolis, just as she incited it in the past,” McCarthy tweeted. “If Speaker Pelosi doesn’t act against this dangerous rhetoric, I will bring action this week.”
Controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) announced she would try to force a vote to expel Waters from the House of Representatives, comparing Waters’ words with those of Trump when he told supporters to protest at the Capitol.
“Speaker Pelosi. You impeached President Trump after you said he incited violence by saying ‘march peacefully’ to the Capitol,” Greene tweeted. “So I can expect a yes vote from you on my resolution to expel Maxine Waters for inciting violence, riots, and abusing power threatening a jury, right?”
