Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Sunday that he predicts the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be back on the market with restrictions or warnings in place soon.
“I don’t want to get ahead of the CDC and the FDA and the advisory committee, but I would imagine that what we will say is: that it would come back and it would come back in some sort of either warning or restriction,” Fauci told CNN’s Dana Bash on State of the Union.
Providers temporarily stopped distributing the J&J vaccine last week while federal health authorities investigate the potential link to rare blood clots after receiving it.
To discuss what warnings to attach to the vaccine, the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is scheduled to meet on Friday.

“You want to make sure that you have all the information that you need,” Fauci said, stating that pausing the distribution was the right thing to do.
Fauci hopes the committees come to a conclusion about the vaccine by Friday so the distribution can resume.
