Far-right Rep. Lauren Boebert defeated state Sen. Don Coram in a landslide in Colorado’s 3rd congressional district on Tuesday, convincingly trouncing the more moderate candidate by 31 points.
“I am thrilled the voters showed their confidence in me to continue being their Representative,” Boebert said in a statement following her win. “Hard-working Americans recognize now is not the time to go along to get along, it’s time to stand up and fight for our American way of life. That is exactly what I will continue to do. Conservative Republicans like me are going to help take back the House in November, fire Nancy Pelosi, and do all we can to get our country back on track.”
Over the past two years, Boebert has made a name for herself as one of the most extreme Republicans in the House. Her unexpected win in 2020 came in a district where Democrats were favored by 6 percentage points. Boebert is known for making controversial statements and for being one of former President Donald Trump‘s most ardent supporters.

Coram joined the race later, as he only began campaigning late last month. He was also out-fundraised and outspent by Boebert.
Reports noted that a number of Democratic voters in Colorado’s third district became unaffiliated voters to vote for Coram in the Republican primary in hopes of booting Boebert, but it wasn’t enough.
The Democratic primary remained undecided on Tuesday night with the latest polls having Aspen City Councilman Adam Frisch leading by just 2.7%. Whoever takes on Boebert will be at a disadvantage in the newly drawn right-leaning district.
