Controversial Rep. Lauren Boebert (R) won a Republican primary in eastern Colorado and is expected to win two more years in office in November.
Boebert, a MAGA supporter, was originally located in Western Colorado but relocated to eastern Colorado, a more conservative area of the state. Her former district was expected to be a more challenging fight for Boebert.
She is running to represent Colorado’s red fourth congressional district, a seat that was held by Ken Buck earlier this year before he vacated the seat. The seat will temporarily be filled by Republican Greg Lopez. Boebert did not participate in the special election to fill the seat.
A two-term Republican, Boebert is known for her strong support of guns. She has been known to wear a gun at her hip and encouraged her staff at her now-closed restaurant to partake as well.

Boebert beat five primary opponents in the race and raised significantly more money than each candidate. She was endorsed by former President Donald Trump during her campaign. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump spoke positively about her policies.
“She has led the fight to Impeach Joe Biden, Stop Illegal Immigration, Defend the Second Amendment, Protect our Wonderful Ranchers and Farmers, Support our Military and Veterans, Secure our Natural Resources to Pursue Energy Dominance, and Stand Up to the Radical Democrats who want to Destroy our Beautiful Country,” Trump wrote.
Boebert sparked a controversy last year after being kicked out of a Denver theater for inappropriate behavior, including singing and vaping. She has openly sparred with another right-wing congresswoman, Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene.
