Conservative media personality Candace Owens said she is “embarrassed” that she supported President Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential election cycle.

In an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Owens admitted her regret over campaigning for Trump.

“He’s been a chronic disappointment. And I feel embarrassed that I told people to go vote for him because this wasn’t going to happen, and it is happening,” said Owens.

Owens has been a consistent supporter of Trump dating back to his first term in the White House and spoke highly of him during his reelection bid in 2024.

However, Owens had criticized the president’s decision to get involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran. Trump ordered airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend in an attempt to hinder the country’s nuclear program.

“This was not Trump’s decision; it was [Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s] decision,” said Owens. “And that is the reason that he did it. We’re very aware that Israel is dictating our foreign policy, and we’d now like that to stop.”

Owens also added that the conflict was “no imminent threat” to the U.S. as she continued to condemn the ordered attack.

“I don’t know where we go from here, but this is not the candidate I voted for,” said Owens.

This isn’t the first time Owens has been openly critical of Trump despite years of loyalty.

Earlier this year, she accused the president of “fighting against free speech in America” as Trump attacked Harvard University and aimed to prohibit the school from admitting international students.

“I don’t recognize this administration right now,” added Owens, following the president’s feud with the prestigious institution.

Owens also appeared on The Stephen A. Smith Show last week and blasted Trump for “betraying MAGA,” joining numerous other Trump loyalists who have condemned the president’s decision to engage in the Israel-Iran conflict.
