The evangelical magazine Christianity Today published an editorial On Thursday calling for President Donald Trump‘s removal from office, and now the editor-in chief is defending their opinion.
Mark Galli told NPR, “It’s not like I have any personal animus against the president. But he does display characteristics that I think as a leader of a great nation like the United States are deeply problematic.”
Trump has had consistent support in the past from the majority of evangelicals, and the president was not pleased with this editorial titled, “Trump Should Be Removed From Office.”
Galli said Trump “slanders people, he tells us, he mischaracterizes people, he outright lies, he says things that are verbally abusive to others.” He compared Trump to an abusive husband who might be a “good provider” but “needs to leave the house.”
