Chris Krebs Threatens Lawsuit After Trump Attorney Joe DiGenova Says He Should Be ‘Shot’

On Monday, former U.S. cybersecurity chief Chris Krebs suggested that he may file a lawsuit against a Trump campaign attorney who said that Krebs should be “shot.”

In an interview on the NBC’s Today show, Krebs said that he and his team are “taking a look at all our available opportunities” after Joe DiGenova, a Trump attorney, had called for Krebs to “be drawn and quartered, taken out at dawn and shot,” late last month.

“Anybody who thinks the election went well, like that idiot Krebs who used to be the head of cybersecurity…. that guy is a class A m*ron,” DiGenova said on the conservative The Howie Carr Show.

Krebs is the former director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), who was fired by President Donald Trump on Twitter last month. Trump ousted Krebs for contradicting the Trump’s unsubstantiated claims of election fraud in the general election. Krebs had maintained that this Election Day had been the safest in history.

Trump tweeted at the time, “There were massive improprieties and fraud — including dead people voting, Poll Watchers not allowed into polling locations, ‘glitches’ in the voting machines which changed … votes from Trump to Biden, late voting, and many more …Therefore, effective immediately, Chris Krebs has been terminated.”

Trump also blasted Krebs for appearing on a 60 Minutes interview, which aired on Sunday in which he warned against the dangers of the president’s election conspiracy theories.

DiGenova is part of Trump’s legal team, led by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, fighting to overturn the 2020 election results.
