Chris Christie’s Super PAC Releases New Advertisement Attacking Donald Trump

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s super PAC, Tell It Like It Is, recently aired a new advertisement attacking Donald Trump for not committing to participating in the first Republican National Committee primary debate in August.

Christie has established himself as Trump’s most vocal GOP critic. The former New Jersey governor is leading a campaign that is almost completely based on attacking Trump for his recent criminal charges and his false election fraud claims. Christie’s moderate Republican stance has set him apart from Trump and other candidates, such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Florida).

The 60-second advertisement was launched on Monday and is entitled “Trump’s Choice.” Although Christie’s campaign did not back the segment, it is consistent with previous comments that Christie has made about the former president.

“We know what’s in your head, Donald. Now that Chris Christie has qualified, should you show up to the debate? Because if you do, your opponents will bring up the impeachments, the indictments. Bring up how you lost to Joe Biden, lost the House, lost the Senate,” the advertisement said.

“That’s what they’ll say if you show up, especially that guy Christie,” it continued. “But if you don’t go, you’ll be a coward, a chicken. Reduced to throwing spitballs on the sidelines. So, Donald, you need to decide: are you a chicken or just a loser?”

Tell It Like It Is PAC has reserved about $122,000 in ad time, mostly online and in its first primary election state of New Hampshire. The “Trump’s Choice” advertisement is being aired digitally and on cable.

Christie has reached the $40,000 donor threshold required to qualify for the first debate in Milwaukee. However, an NBC News poll released last month showed only 5% of voters supporting him, as opposed to 51% of voters supporting Trump, who is pulling significantly ahead of his Republican opponents.
