A former insurance salesman from Pennsylvania who participated in the U.S. Capitol riot was sentenced to six months probation after revealing he was fired and now works as a pizza delivery driver.
Edward McAlanis was fired for his participation in the riot he plead guilty to one charge of parading demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol. He got six months probation, $500 restitution and 60 hours of community service three other charges were dropped in exchange for a plea.
“Going back, I wish I could take it back, but I can’t,” said McAlanis he added he was looking forward to “learning from this.” McAlanis spent four hours in the Capitol before entering the building for 15 minutes where he posed for a picture with a statue of Lincoln.
The judge said his role was “minimal” compared to other rioters and that he was “remorseful.”
