Caitlyn Jenner Laments Homeless Tents In Beverly Hills

California Republican gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner said Friday that the tents in Beverly Hills are the latest sign of the deterioration of the state.

“When you drive in Beverly Hills and you look at the park, and there’s tents in the park, we have to look at that issue very seriously,” Jenner told Fox LA on Friday. “But to be honest with you on a big picture, living in a tent in a park in Beverly Hills, it’s just different today. Before, the homeless were all downtown. I’m sure you’ve been downtown. I mean, you walk down there, and it’s just like so tough, so difficult on these people,” she added.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-California) is facing a recall election this year, and 43 people have declared their candidacy. However, only a few have recognizable political experience.

Jenner has no experience in running for office. And despite her celebrity as a former Olympic gold medalist and a Kardashian family member, she is polling at a mere six percent, according to the Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies survey in May.

During the interview, Jenner also claimed that 50 percent of all homeless people in the U.S. live in California. A count from a federal report last year estimated the number was closer to 28 percent.
