According to the former national security adviser John Bolton, President Donald Trump was unaware that the United Kingdom had nuclear weapons.
In Bolton’s bombshell tell-all book about his former boss, he revealed Trump’s odd comment at the meeting with former British Prime Minister Teresa May two years ago.
During the conversation with May, Trump seemed to be unaware that the UK is a nuclear power, asking her, “Oh, are you a nuclear power?” when the topic was brought up.
“He told May the number one existential threat is still nuclear weapons, and not climate change or any of these other issues that all these other people were raising,” Bolton said.

Bolton left Trump’s administration in September 2019.
In response to the report on Bolton’s new memoir, Trump openly criticized his former security adviser via Twitter.
“Bolton’s book, which is getting terrible reviews, is a compilation of lies and made up stories, all intended to make me look bad. Many of the ridiculous statements he attributes to me were never made, pure fiction. Just trying to get even for firing him like the sick puppy he is!,” Trump said.
Bolton’s bombshell book, titled: The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir, is to be released on June 23.
