President Joe Biden has announced a $6 trillion budget request Friday, offering huge investments in infrastructure and middle-class families with an expansion child care.

According to the proposed budget, the White House will spend $2.3 trillion on an infrastructure plan, $1.8 trillion on families, and $1.5 trillion on federal agencies for the upcoming fiscal year.

Shalanda Young, Biden’s acting White House budget director, revealed that the proposed budget is an effort to achieve “shared prosperity.”

“The budget makes these investments in a way that’s responsive to both the near- and medium-term economic landscape, as well as the long-term challenges our country faces,” Young added.

The budget outlined by Biden’s administration will be negotiated with Congress regarding the federal budget and will be reviewed before being confirmed.
