Biden’s Job Approval Rating Hits New Low Amid COVID-19 Surge & Afghanistan Crisis

President Joe Biden‘s job approval rating hit new lows on Saturday amid the surging COVID-19 cases nationwide and the Afghanistan crisis.

In the CBS News poll, Biden’s approval rating hit 50 percent, with the same 50 percent of the population disapproving him. His rating from this poll fell 8 points since July. NBC News poll showed that Biden had 49 percent of the approval rate and a 48 percent disapproval rate. His rating from this poll fell 4 points since July.

The survey results show the public’s more pessimistic view towards the COVID-19 response of the federal government since April, as the country still remains split over whether to mandate the vaccine or not or which side should control Congress following the 2022 midterms. The results are also reflecting the recent Afghanistan crisis, especially after Taliban took power in Kabul.

On Monday, just two days after the poll results were released, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) posted a tweet with a picture titled: “Impeach Biden.”

“Joe Biden is a total failure and unfit to be Commander-in-Chief. It’s time to [Impeach Biden!]” Greene tweeted.
