The presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden raised more money than President Donald Trump in May, recording $80.8 million in total.
Republican National Committee (RNC) and Trump campaign raised $74 million in May, which was also their monthly record. However, the GOP side couldn’t overcome the $7 million gap that Biden and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) recorded in the same month.
Biden and DNC, however, are still far behind Trump’s overall campaign funding.
Trump and his campaign allies reportedly secured $265 million in cash reserves. While Biden’s side has yet to release their numbers, the files Democrats submitted to the Federal Election Commission show that they approximately secured $100 million at that time.

“After yet another massive fundraising haul, it remains clear that the enthusiasm behind President Trump’s re-election campaign goes unmatched,” said Brad Parscale, campaign manager for Trump’s re-election. “While Sleepy Joe Biden lobs ineffective partisan attacks from the shadows of his basement, President Trump is leading The Great American Comeback, and he is drawing support from every corner of this country.”
While Biden still falls behind Trump in cash, he is catching up fast.
When reporting $80.8 million, the Biden campaign also brought over 120,000 new donors for its fundraiser with the endorsement of former President Barack Obama.
