Biden’s Approval Rating Rises After Midterm Victories

According to CNN’s latest poll, Joe Biden‘s approval ratings have risen. The President’s assent is likely attributed to the better-than-expected mid-term results from the Democratic party in the midterm elections.

Forty-six percent of respondents said they approved of Biden’s job performance, while 54 percent said they disapproved. The approval rating was up five points from the last poll, taken before the midterm elections.

Biden’s approval rating bears watching — political pundits have been harping on the President’s low approval ratings, believing they indicate that Democrats should nominate a more popular candidate for the position. A rise in Biden’s approval may alleviate Democrat’s fears that he has lost touch with his base.

Biden’s approval dropped to 36 percent in early August as gas prices and inflation hurt American’s wallets.

Donald Trump declared his re-election bid for 2024 after the midterms, likely leading to a second contest between the octogenarian candidates.

Trump will likely attack Biden’s economic performance, as the current president didn’t fair as well in the poll in that area. Only 36 percent of respondents had a favorable view of Biden’s economic work.

Biden’s protection of democracy and aid for Ukraine received high marks, each getting 50 percent approval.

The poll surveyed 1,208 adults in the U.S. from December 1 through 7. The predicted margin of error is 3.6 points.
