President Joe Biden conducted an interview with ABC News on Friday in an attempt to prove he is still a viable candidate, but many Democrats said that the interview was not enough to alleviate their concerns.
Biden’s health and cognitive ability have been publicly questioned throughout the presidential election but the issue took center stage following his shaky debate performance last month. During the debate, Biden appeared confused and trailed off during answers on numerous occasions.
Following the debate, there has been an outcry from many Democrats to replace Biden and choose a new candidate to represent the party. Biden spoke in-depth with ABC News regarding his ability and health, stating that he was able to hold the office.
“Can I run the 100 [meeters in] 10 flat? No, but I’m still in good shape,” Biden said, addressing mounting concerns regarding his health.

Biden told viewers that he was best prepared to win this race and beat Trump, his political opponent.
“I don’t think anybody’s more qualified to be president or win this race than me,” Biden said.
Biden also spoke of his refusal to drop out of the race, despite the increasing criticism from various Democratic lawmakers and voters, saying, “If the Lord Almighty came down and said, ‘Joe, get out of the race,’ I’d get out of the race,” Biden said. “The Lord Almighty’s not coming down.
