WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 01: U.S. President Joe Biden delivers the State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress in the U.S. Capitol House Chamber on March 1, 2022 in Washington, DC. In his first State of the Union address, Biden spoke on his administration’s efforts to lead a global response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, work to curb inflation, and bring the country out of the COVID-19 pandemic. President Joe Biden will run for another term in the White House, according to an official from Rev. Al Sharpton‘s National Action Network.
The reverend had a private conversation with the President last month.
“I’m going to do it again,” he told Shapton while they posed for a photo in early September in the Roosevelt Room. “I’m going.”
Biden has long been speculated to make another bid for the presidency but has not formally announced his plans. Just last month, Biden told CBS that it was “much too early” to make a decision about 2024.

“My intention, as I said to begin with, is that I would run again. But it’s just an intention,” he said at the time. “But is it a firm decision that I run again? That remains to be seen.”
“It’s much too early to make that kind of decision. I’m a great respecter of fate,” the President added. “And so, what I’m doing is I’m doing my job. I’m gonna do that job. And within the timeframe that makes sense after this next election cycle here, going into next year, make a judgment on what to do.”
With Sharpton’s revelation, however, an announcement from the Biden camp is likely imminent.
Biden’s approval ratings have been at record lows, but approaching midterms, his numbers have seen a boost. At the end of September, he was sitting at around a 43% approval rate, which represents the highest number he’s received since January.
