Biden Tests Negative For COVID-19 For Third Time After Exposure To Trump At Debate

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has tested negative for COVID-19 for the third time in a row, according to his campaign on Sunday.

Biden has been getting tested since he debated President Donald Trump last Tuesday in Cleveland, just under two days before Trump and First Lady Melania tested positive for coronavirus. Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, have both been tested since then and have only received negative results.

Senior adviser of Biden’s campaign, Symone Sanders, said that they were not concerned about Biden falling ill with COVID, as he has been practicing recommended health guidelines and “regularly” being tested.

“What I want to communicate is that we are not concerned because we are being safe,” Sanders said. She also emphasized that the Biden campaign has been following the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines since COVID-19 came to the United States in January.

The president, who was hospitalized Friday, returned to the White House Monday night at 6:30. He announced on Monday via Twitter that he is feeling “better than (he) did 20 years ago,” while the cause or location of where he first contracted COVID is unknown.

Biden has continued to campaign, and reportedly did not receive a warning from the Trump administration or the White House when Trump tested positive for the virus.

“No, we haven’t heard, to my knowledge, from the Trump campaign or the White House,” Sanders shared. “But the reality is that Vice President Biden was not exposed. According to CDC guidance, less than 6 feet away is dangerous. Vice President Biden was always more than 6 feet away from Trump.”
