Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said Thursday that if elected president, he would order Americans to wear masks in public amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Biden was in an interview with the CBS Pittsburgh affiliate KDKA said that he “would do everything possible” for implementing the order.
“I would go back to making sure that everybody had masks,” he said. “The one thing we do know is that these masks make a gigantic difference. Anyone to reopen would have to make sure that they walked into a business that had masks.”
When asked if he’d use executive power to order mask-wearing in public, Biden responded, “Yes, I would. From an executive standpoint, yes I would.”

“I would do everything possible to make it required that people have to wear masks in public,” Biden added.
President Donald Trump has been refusing to wear masks in public, neither supported social distancing despite the CDC reports and the experts’ advice.
“People come in; they’re talking through the mask for hours. They probably don’t clean them after, you know, they get a little cocky, right? Then they take the mask, they put their finger on the mask, and they take them off, and then they start touching their eyes and touching their nose and their mouth. And then they don’t know how they caught it,” Trump told the Wall Street Journal last week.
