Biden Responds To Terrorist Attack At Kabul Airport: ‘We Will Not Forgive’

On Thursday night, President Joe Biden gave his remarks in response to the terrorist attack in Kabul that killed 11 U.S. soldiers. In his speech, Biden made it clear that “America will not be intimidated” and pledged to hunt down the attackers.

“My heart aches for you, but I know this: we have a continued obligation, the most sacred obligation to all of you, the families of those heroes,” Biden said Friday. “We will not be deterred by terrorists. We will continue the evacuation.”

“To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm know this: We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay,” Biden added. “We will respond with force and precision at our time at a place we choose in a moment of our choosing.”

On Thursday, the terrorists pulled off two explosions at Hamid Karzai International Airport. The attack killed 11 Marines and one Navy medic while injuring 15 Americans.

Before Biden gave his speech, Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, commander of U.S. Central Command, confirmed it was a suicide bomber who bombed the airport. McKenzie, however, also said that the military has limited information about the second bombing that happened near the Baron Hotel.

“We thought this would happen sooner or later,” McKenzie said Thursday. “It’s tragic that it happened today. It’s tragic that there was this much loss of life. We are prepared to continue the mission.”

The president was also reportedly told there is a high chance that another terrorist attack could happen before the United States finishes its evacuation.

“They advised the president and vice president that another terror attack in Kabul is likely, but that they are taking maximum force protection measures at the Kabul airport,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said during the press briefings Friday
