President Joe Biden has requested Congress appropriate $100 billion in funding to aid Israel, Ukraine and domestic issues including border funding and disaster aid.
According to officials, once the funding level is finalized, it is expected to cover a year’s worth of aid. The Biden administration’s request will be sent to Congress Hill by Friday after Biden returns from his trip to Israel.
After the Palestinian militant group Hamas executed their attack earlier this month, calls came from both parties for more aid to Israel.
Some House Republicans have expressed concern over combining Israel and Ukraine aid. Many in the party oppose additional aid to Ukraine.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell supported the administration’s position of combining assistance and support for Taiwan.
“This is all interconnected,” said McConnell. “You’ve got the North Koreans, the Iranians, the Russians and the Chinese, sort of, on the same side against the democratic world, so there is a connection between all of this. I am not surprised, frankly, that the administration seems to be inclined to send up a broad package.”
McConnel said that Republicans wanted to see a more secure border.
“The border part of it needs to be credible — not just some reference to it,” he said.
The last request made by the administration was an additional inclusion of $4 billion in support for the southern border, although the request was not included in the bill approved by Congress. Thousands of migrants have overwhelmed the border state’s ability to handle the massive influx.
