Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden announced a major economic plan on Thursday, proposing to fund $400 billion in the manufacturing sector and $300 billion on research and development sector over four years.
Biden delivered the speech after touring McGregor Industries in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, when he unveiled his “build back better” plan.
“Throughout this crisis, Donald Trump has been almost singularly focused on the stock market, the Dow, and the NASDAQ. Not you and not your families,” Biden said. “If I am fortunate enough to be your president, I’ll be laser-focused on working families, middle-class families like I came from here in Scranton, not the wealthy investor class. They don’t need me. Working families do.”
Following his Biden’s speech, President Donald Trump Friday accused Biden of copying his economic agendas.

“He plagiarized from me, but he could never pull it off,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “He likes plagiarizing. It’s a plan that is very radical left. But he said the right things because he’s copying what I’ve done, but the difference is he can’t do it.”
In response, Biden campaign spokesperson Andrew Bates released a statement, claiming that Biden’s plan is the opposite of Trump’s.
“The truth is, Trump promised voters he’d stand with American workers, but spent his entire time in office siding with corporate boardrooms and his big money donors over middle class families – creating giant new financial rewards for outsourcing jobs and trying to take healthcare away from millions,” the statement reads. “His presidency has thrown American manufacturing into a recession, killed tens of millions of jobs, and sent the strong economy he inherited from the Obama-Biden Administration into a full-on meltdown.”
