President Joe Biden mocked Donald Trump‘s claim that he had a “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT” which turned out to be that he is selling limited edition $99 NFT trading cards featuring a cartoon version of himself on them.
“I had some MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS the last couple of weeks, too…,” the president wrote on Twitter.
Biden continued on with a checklist, “✔️ Inflation’s easing, ✔️ I just signed the Respect for Marriage Act, ✔️ We brought Brittney Griner home, ✔️ Gas prices are lower than a year ago, ✔️ 10,000 new high-paying jobs in Arizona.”

November’s Consumer Price Index was released earlier this week noting that inflation is decreasing. Biden also signed the Respect for Marriage Act this week to protect LGBTQ and interracial marriages. WNBA player Brittney Griner was also brought home from Russia in a prisoner swap.
Trump encouraged his supporters to buy the trading card NFTs saying they “feature amazing ART of my Life & Career,” disappointing some of his supporters who assumed the “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT” would be the reveal of his running mate as he formally announced another bid for the White House in 2024 last month. Others also thought it may be tied to the race for House speaker.
They are “very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting,” the former president added in the announcement posted to his social media platform, Truth Social.
Trump went on to claim that he is better liked than both Abraham Lincoln and George Washington and that the NFT cards will make for a great Christmas gift. The cards carry chances to win prizes including golfing at one of the Trump golf courses or having a meal with the former president.
The announcement was met with widespread ridicule from both Republicans and Democrats.
