The inauguration planning committee for President-elect Joe Biden scheduled Sunday to be the first rehearsal for the president-elect’s upcoming ceremony, but the rehearsal was canceled due to perceived threats.
The inauguration committee has not commented on the rehearsal change, but since the date was first named, more than 20,000 Army National Guard members have been deployed to D.C. The Capitol complex has also been locked down and the FBI has publicly warned that there are risks of violent protests all across the country in the days surrounding the inauguration.
The committee has also brought on the former Homeland Security adviser, who served when Biden was vice president, Lisa Monaco. She will also be focusing on inauguration security.
