Biden Grows Frustrated With Low Approval Approaching Midterms

Frustrations are mounting at the White House as inflation continues to soar, fuel prices remain at an all-time high, Congress is deadlocked over gun legislation, crises around foreign policy and President Joe Biden‘s ratings plummeting to new lows.

The Biden administration is growing increasingly concerned over parallels to one-term President Jimmy Carter‘s tenure, which was plagued by high inflation, an energy crisis and foreign policy missteps.

Biden is reportedly upset that his approval numbers have fallen below former President Donald Trump, who he sees as the worst president ever. Biden is also unhappy about being uninformed about the baby formula shortage. Last week, in a White House round table meeting with baby formula industry leaders, Biden claimed that he was not made aware that the impact of the Abbott Nutrition plant closure, which halted production in February, would be this severe until April even though the CEO’s said they had known the ramifications as soon as the plant shutdown. Those close to the president worried his admission made him look out of touch.

The President has complained that he has not been able to interact with voters. Much of this is due to security and health concerns, as the 79-year-old president could be more prone to serious symptoms if he contracted Covid-19. Biden aides agree that the president should get on the road so voters can see his more personable side.
