Biden Campaign Has Nearly Twice As Much Cash On Hand As Trump Campaign In Final Month

Throughout the month of September, President Donald Trump’s campaign spent nearly half of its money. The campaign’s effort to re-election the president faltered as spending was reduced in several battleground states.

The Federal Election Commission reported that Trump began with $121.1 million at the end of August, and only had $63.1 million by the end of September, with only 34 days left before the election. His campaign raised $83.1 million in September, but spent about $139.3 million throughout the month. Because of this, the campaign reduced spending on television advertising, as well as advertising in Pennsylvania and Michigan, both battleground states, for a period of time.

While his campaign stated on Thursday that the Trump re-election effort had raised $247.8 million in September, much of that money went to the Republican National Committee and state parties, as both of which are part of the re-election effort.

In comparison, Democratic nominee Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee raised $383 million in September, and report that they have $432 million saved in the bank. In August and September, the DNC raised $748 million, which comes to about $290 million more than Trump during the same time frame. Biden and the DNC are to release their official financial report to the FEC on Tuesday.
