Attorney General William Barr is considering resigning before President Donald Trump‘s term ends next month, according to people familiar with the matter.
The announcement follows Barr’s acknowledgement last week that the Justice Department (DOJ) after investigating had discovered no evidence of widespread voting fraud.
It is still unclear whether Trump’s refusal to concede the election has contributed to Barr’s decision, which he has been floating since before last week.
The attorney general has strongly supported Trump throughout his tenure but claimed last week that the DOJ had not unearthed any evidence of widespread voter fraud.
