Are Trump Rallies On The Decline? The Numbers Say ‘Yes’

MAGA rallies are on the decline as former President Donald Trump continues to juggle his 2024  campaign and widespan of court dates. Trump’s rally attendance is at an all-time low after a significant decrease in the number of rallies.

Trump held an estimated 323 rallies in 2016 between the primary and general elections. By 2020, he managed to schedule 70 rallies between the November 3 election and the post-Covid era on June 20. Roughly three to four rallies were held in a single day.

Although there was a surge in MAGA rallies from 2016 to 2020, as of the last couple of months leading up to Iowa, only two rallies per month have been scheduled.

The drop in rallies is due to various factors, including his efforts to open up room for court dates that revolve around his current legal battles and the cost savings needed to continue these MAGA events.

Hosting a rally can range from six figures to $2 million, the expenses cover venue rental, travel costs for Trump and his staff, outside contractors and security measures that include Secret Service and TSA agents to manage the metal detectors.

“We literally have a rally in Miami in a week and a half,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung told The Daily Beast. “Also, we’re dominating the entire field in polling and fundraising. What we’ve done has worked and that’s called ‘being smart.'”

In Trump’s most recent problem, he has received a $10,000 fine for violating a gag order placed by New York Justice Arthur Engoron, who also warned Trump of possible jail time.

“This court is way beyond the warning stage,” he stated.
